Research methodology and evidence standards

TomorrowMap is an evidence-first regional research preview. Here is what each project record means, and where our verification stops.

What we include

Projects in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee with evidence from attributable company announcements, state economic-development notices and other original disclosures. We retain publisher, date, location, source URL, reported project scope and limitations for each record.

Stage labels

Announced means a plan or investment was publicly reported. Under construction means the cited source explicitly characterized activity that way at the source date. Operational means a source identified an operating facility at that time. Partnership announced does not mean construction began. These are historical evidence labels, not real-time present-tense statuses.

Financial and geographic precision

Reported investment amounts are announcements or commitments unless noted otherwise, not audited expenditures. Map markers are approximate city or regional points, not property boundaries or exact construction addresses.

What is not verified

We do not infer an open bid, an available job, or a confirmed contractor from an investment announcement. The “research checklist” on a project page provides prospective checks and is not itself project evidence.

Update policy

Our current dataset was reviewed on October 10, 2026. Pages only change after someone reviews relevant evidence. A scheduled source-monitoring workflow is included in the project source code. Once connected to GitHub Actions, it can check selected official RSS feeds and stage candidates for editorial review; it will not silently rewrite project facts or approve bids. The Netlify-only manual deployment does not activate this workflow. Subscriber email alerts are not active.

How to correct a record

Please send the project URL, the specific correction and a primary-source document through the contact form. We will review it before changing the published database.

Content and licensing

Source titles and links are retained for attribution. TomorrowMap summarizes factual claims in its own words and does not attempt to reproduce or resell the full underlying publication. Data-use rights must be evaluated before automated collection or licensed redistribution.
